质量标准:【产品介绍】Actins are highly conserved
proteins ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic
cells. They comprise, along with microtubules, a maj
o r component of the cytoskeleton. Actin has been found
to be expressed in at least six isomeric f o r ms. It
is expressed in heart a n d skeletal striated muscle
tissue, a n d in certain smooth muscle tissues,
regulating contractile potentials f o r these cells. It
is also expressed in the cytoplasm of non-muscle
cells, functioning to control cell structure a n d
motility (1). Polymerization of globular actin
(G-actin) leads to a structural filament (F-actin), whose
f o r mation requires the Arp2/3 complex (2). It has
been rep o r ted that actin is hyperphosph o r ylated
in primary breast tum o r s (3). It has also been shown
that actin dysfunction leads to certain types of
heart failure (4). Smooth muscle alpha actin is of
further interest because it is one of a few genes
whose expression is relatively restricted to vascular
smooth muscle cells. Furtherm o r e, expression of
smooth muscle alpha actin is regulated by h o r mones
a n d cell proliferation, a n d is altered by
pathological conditions including oncogenic transf
o r mation a n d atherosclerosis (5).

Products Data
A. Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded
human uterus tissue using anti-a-Actin (Smooth Muscle) RabMAb (cat. #1184-1); shows positive staining of smooth muscle tissue.
B. Immunohistochemical analysis of
paraffin-embedded skeletal muscle tissue using
anti-a-Actin (Smooth Muscle) RabMAb (cat. #1184-1);
shows negative staining of skeletal muscle tissue.
C. Western blot analysis on A431 cell lysate
using anti-a-Actin (Smooth Muscle) RabMAb (catalog #1184-1).
Specificity
A synthetic peptide corresponding to N-terminus of
human Actin was used as immunogen. This antibody only detects actin in smooth muscle in immunohistochemistry.
