Quality Standard:【产品介绍】FKBP12 (Fkbp1a) is a member of the
FK-506-binding protein (FKBP) family. This family
of proteins possesses peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans
isomerase (PPIase) activity and is believed to play
an important role in accelerating the rate at which
proteins fold into their native conformations (1).
FKBP12 was originally identified as a cytosolic
receptor for the immunosuppressant drugs, FK506
and rapamycin, and later shown to be involved in
cell-cycle regulation and in intracellular
calcium homeostasis. Binding of FKBP12 to rapamycin
through its FK506/rapamycin-binding/ PPIase domain
mediates the immunosuppressive and anti-tumor effects
of rapamycin, a drug that has shown to arrest tumor cells
in G1 phase of the cell cycle and to reduce
tumor angiogenesis (2). FKBP12 is highly conserved
from yeast through human and is relatively abundant in
most tissues and cell types (3).
