Character：
乙二醛是无色或略带微黄色液体，放置易产生树脂状固体聚合物，遇热聚合物又转为单体。放冷后转变为白色，而其蒸气呈绿色，蒸气有毒，燃烧时生成紫色火焰，与空气形成的混合物能引起爆炸。放置、遇水(反应剧烈)或溶于含水溶剂时很快聚合，加热时，无水聚合物又能转为单体。溶于水、醇和醚。半数致死量(大鼠，经口)2020mg/kg。商品常制成40%溶液。其40%水溶液pH2.1-2.7。
