Character：
白色粒状或细粉。软化点100-130℃。溶解度随纤维素中羟基被乙氧基取代程度而有不同。能溶于多数有机溶剂，能与树脂、油蜡及增塑剂混合，对碱和稀酸不起作用，不溶于水。密度：1.07-1.18
折光率：1.47
   一般商品含乙氧基47%-48%。乙基纤维素膜强韧，在低温下仍能保持充分柔软的特性，热稳定性好，不会受光的影响而变黄，很少有粘着感或发粘，尺寸、稳定性好，与蜡的相溶性好，燃烧时灰分极少，取代程度不同的各种乙基纤维素，性能也有差别。
